Apply for Watermark Town funding

If you are taking part in our Watermark Town programme, you can apply for funding of up to £2,000 to assist with projects in your town.


Who can apply

Only town and parish councils taking part in the programme can apply.

When to apply

Applications for the current round of funding close on 30 July 2026.

However, there will be a second opportunity to apply in October 2026.

What the funding can be used for

The funding can cover costs, such as:

  • equipment
  • room hire
  • events
  • fees.

What we don't fund

We don't fund:

  • general appeals for capital building projects
  • activities that the government or public bodies have a statutory responsibility to provide
  • activities intending to influence people’s religious or political choices
  • activities that primarily support animal welfare, arts or sports
  • projects with no significant community or charitable element
  • medical research, equipment or treatment
  • costs incurred before the money can be awarded
  • activities that raise funds for other organisations or projects that have already happened.
