What's on offer?
Throughout the week, you will be able to take part in the following activities:
- fishing
- kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding
- sailing and model boating
- guided nature walks.
To put on these activities, we have joined forces with Sutton Bingham and District Canoe Club, Sutton Bingham Sailing Club Yeovil, District Model Boat Club and Yeovil Rivers Community Trust.
There are a limited number of spaces for each activity so booking your spot is essential.
Fishing
Sutton Bingham Reservoir is a traditional trout fly fishery and we pride ourselves on providing quality and value.
We are holding three fishing sessions for complete beginners to teach them the basic parts of the rod and how to cast. They are free of charge and suitable for ages eight and above
Date and time
Each session will take place on:
- Wednesday 31 May from 9.30am to 10.30am
- Saturday 3 June from 11am to 12pm
- Sunday 4 June from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
How to book
You can book via our online form up to 14 days before the activity you would like to attend.

Kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding
Sutton Bingham Canoe Club is holding instructor-led kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding sessions.
They will give beginners the opportunity to try each sport for the first time, as well as encouraging those who already partake in the sports to achieve their full potential.
Date
The sessions will take place on Wednesday 31 May and Saturday 3 June.

Sailing and model boating
Sutton Bingham Sailing Club is welcoming novices and experienced sailors to take part in their ‘Get Sailing’ event. You will also have the opportunity to have a go at model boating.
The event is for ages eight and above and costs £5 per person – this is payable on the day.

The event will take place on Friday 2 June from 10am to 5pm.

Guided nature walks
Yeovil Rivers Community Trust (YRCT) is holding free guided nature walks to give people the opportunity to explore the natural environment around the reservoir.
Take a gentle stroll with like-minded people, YRCT staff and a local ranger. They are suitable for children and people of all fitness levels.
Please get in touch if you have specific access requirements as some routes may not be suitable.
Date and time
The walks will take place from 10.30am to 12pm on Monday 29 May and Thursday 1 June.
