Fishing online booking terms and conditions

Read the full terms and conditions for booking a fishing ticket online.

Making a booking

Customers should book their activities in advance using our online booking system. If they are unable to access the system online, a booking can be made by telephone via the fishing lodges.

Customers are able to make bookings up to two weeks in advance of the planned start date.

If arriving on site without a booking, customers must make a booking using the online booking system and will require their own hardware/device to process this.

Payment

Full payment is required at the time of booking, and no booking will be confirmed until full payment has been made.

Confirmation

An email confirmation of booking will be sent to the customer, including a booking reference and invoice. This shall serve as proof of purchase, and the booking reference will be required upon arrival and for inspection throughout the activity.

Failure to provide a valid booking reference may result in a new booking being required or a customer being asked to cease the activity and/or leave the site.

Wessex Water will not hold or reserve activities without a valid booking, including full payment.

Communication

Automated emails created by the booking system will be sent from a no-reply account (noreply@wessexwater.co.uk).

For general, non-urgent enquiries, please use fishing@wessexwater.co.uk or contact the local fishing lodge directly.

Cancellation/amendment by the customer

Customers may cancel a booking up to 48 hours before the date of the activity using the link provided in the confirmation e-mail, using the customer account function or contacting the lodge. A full refund will then be issued to the card used for payment.

If the original payment was made by cash or cheque, Wessex Water will arrange for payment of the refund by BACS or cheque.

For booking amendments or cancellations within 48 hours of the activity, customers need to contact the local fishing lodge. If a booking is amended and an additional payment is required, this payment must be made before the amended booking can be confirmed. No refund will be issued for any reductions or cancellations within 48 hours of an activity, but customers may rebook the activity for an alternative date (subject to availability).

From the date of the activity, no cancellations or amendments can be made, and no refunds will be issued.

Cancellation by Wessex Water Services Limited

On occasion, Wessex Water may have to cancel a booking. In those unlikely circumstances, any payments will be refunded, or an alternative activity/location will be offered. Cancellations will be communicated via email directly to the customer.

Please note that Wessex Water accepts no liability for any accommodation, travel or additional expenses incurred in the event of an activity being cancelled.

Adverse weather

Customer safety is of paramount importance, and Wessex Water reserves the right to cancel an event if it deems there to be a risk to customer wellbeing, including due to prevailing or anticipated weather conditions. This shall be treated as a cancellation by Wessex Water, and a refund will be provided in accordance with the above provisions.

Safety and rules

By making a booking, customers acknowledge and accept that all activities are unsupervised and are undertaken at the customer's own risk, and the customer remains responsible for their own safety and that of any others participating in the activity.

The customer acknowledges and accepts that whilst Wessex Water endeavours to provide a safe environment for the activity, there are residual risks associated with open water and outdoor activities, including but not limited to drowning, slips/trips/falls, waterborne diseases, irritant/bites from plants and wildlife and exposure to the elements.

Customers should familiarise themselves with the safety information provided and follow instructions provided by Wessex Water staff at all times.

Customers are required to adhere to all site rules and other statutory requirements. Failure to do so may result in a request from Wessex Water to cease the activity and/or leave the site. In such circumstances, no refund will be provided.

Discounts

If a customer holds a valid discount code, this must be kept confidential and not shared with any other customers.

If a discount is used as part of a booking Wessex Water may ask for proof of entitlement from the customer. Failure to provide proof of entitlement will result in a requirement to pay any difference in price.

Tax

All prices are inclusive of any applicable VAT, charged at the relevant rate at the time of the transaction.

Liability

The customer is required to keep all personal belongings safe at all times, and Wessex Water accepts no liability for damage to or loss of personal belongings.

Wessex Water does not accept any responsibility for any loss (including, without limitation, theft) of any property from any Wessex Water site or facility. This is unless damage is caused by Wessex Water's negligence, in which circumstances Wessex Water's liability will be limited to the amount of its insurance for such losses.

Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes Wessex Water's liability for personal injury or death caused by Wessex Water's negligence.

All equipment belonging to the customer must be maintained in good working order and condition. If you are unsure about the suitability or safety of your equipment, please consult a member of Wessex Water's staff or refer to the manufacturer's guidelines before use.

Wessex Water shall not be liable for any loss, damage or deterioration of the customer's own personal equipment. The customer is solely responsible for ensuring the care, maintenance and security of their personal equipment at all times.

Wessex Water recommends that customers using their own equipment obtain appropriate Public Liability Insurance.

Wessex Water will not be liable for the delay or cancellation of a booking if the delay or cancellation is caused by circumstances or events outside the reasonable control of Wessex Water.

How we will use your personal information

To manage the booking and to keep in touch with customers, Wessex Water will ask the customer to provide personal information at the time of making the booking. This will be used to form the contract between the customer and Wessex Water.

Wessex Water will store any personal information provided securely, and any card payments taken are processed through a secure payment card service.

Wessex Water will not contact the customer regarding other products or services unless the customer would like to receive general information or marketing updates, which the customer can opt into by signing up for the Wessex Water email newsletter.

For more information about how Wessex Water will use personal data and customer rights, please see the Wessex Water privacy notice.
