Flow regulator trial terms and conditions

Read the full terms and conditions for our flow regulator trial below.

  1. These terms and conditions apply to the installation of a flow regulator on a trial basis on your water supply and the provision of an electronic voucher to you at the end of the successful trial and completion of a survey.

  2. The device we are trialling is a NRv2LoFlo smart valve produced by GroundBreakers Limited. The device works by preventing backflow and regulating the flow of water into your home. The product page for the device is available at GroundBreakers Limited's website.

  3. In return for your participation, we will send you one £25 electronic voucher at the end of the trial. To be eligible to receive this voucher, you must participate in the trial until it is complete, and you must also complete the survey provided to you at the end of the trial.

  4. To assess how effective the device is, and in addition to the flow regulator, we will install a data logger in your outside stop tap chamber at the start of the trial. The logger will remain in place throughout the trial period of four weeks.

  5. At the start of the trial, we will install this device on your property. We will then monitor its performance for two weeks. It is important for you to continue to use water as you normally do throughout the trial so that we can determine the performance of the device accurately. At the end of the trial, you may either keep the device or ask us to remove it. We will also ask you to complete a survey where you can tell us about your experience with the device.

  6. We are trialling this device at your home because you are an unmetered customer with a stop tap chamber easily accessible outside of your property. To conduct this trial, we will be collecting some of your data, but this will be held and shared only on an anonymous basis, as long as it is possible to do so. We will use your personal data to contact you at the end of the trial in order to send you the survey and £25 voucher. Any personal data we collect about you will be deleted after the trial has completed.

  7. While the trial is running, we will collect water use data with a data logger. This data will help us assess the effectiveness of the water efficiency device. After the trial, this data will be kept in an anonymised form.

  8. You may opt out of your participation in the trial at any time and for any reason by emailing saving.water@wessexwater.co.uk but please be aware that you will no longer be eligible to receive the £25 participation voucher. We may terminate the trial or your participation in the trial at any time for any reason. For example, if we find problems with the device. We may also make changes to the trial at any time if necessary, and we will inform you of this. Otherwise, the trial will last a total of four weeks, with some time at the end to collect survey data.

  9. During the trial, you must not remove the device yourself or tamper with it in any way. If you do tamper with the device, you acknowledge that you will be responsible for any damage that may occur as a result of your actions. If you experience any problems with the device, you agree to inform us of this immediately.

  10. If you elect to keep the device at the end of the trial, ownership of the device will transfer to you at that time on an “as is” basis. Wessex Water will give no warranty or guarantee and will make no representation in relation to the device. Any known or unknown defect in the device will therefore be your responsibility after the time of transfer, and we will have no liability to you in connection with the device after that time, unless we are not permitted to exclude our liability under applicable law.
